Specialty Job System
In RO2, players are allowed to change their jobs freely and they can learn and use skills from other jobs, which is known as the Specialty Job System. With this system players can equip the specialty skills gained by leveling a certain job and train a unique character!
Specialty skills will be learned when you train your character to a certain job level(JLV).
For example, Bash Specialty will be learned when a Swordsman reaches JLV20. After the Swordsman learn the specialty and equip the specialty when change to other jobs, (s)he can use the ability of Bash. For example when change jobs to a Enchanter and equip the specialty skill then the Enchanter can use Bash Skill too!
Specialty sometimes doesn't stand for the skill but the characteristics of a job.
For example a Enchanter can equip long sword type weapon when (s)he learns the Long Sword Mastery specialty skill of Swordsman.
Specialty doesn't have the using restriction but the skill level of specialty skill will not be leveled when using it.
For example when you train your Swordsman's Bash specialty skill to lv6, then change jobs to a Enchanter and equip this specialty skill. The Enchanter can also use the lv6 Bash but the skill can not be leveled. You have to change jobs back to Swordsman to continue to level up the Bash skill.
Of course you can use this Specialty Job System to create your own powerful character, but in order to keep the game in a balance, a character won't equip all of the specialty skills. And every job has their unique skills that can not be learned and used by other jobs as a specialty skill.
In Ragnarok Online II the number of specialty skills which can be equiped at the same time is limited. There totaly got 16 blocks in a 4*4 box, and every specialty skill will take up 1 or 2 or more blocks to be equiped. The number of blocks taken up by a specialty skill depends on its effect. For example Skill A which can increase melee attack damage 150% will take up 1 block but Skill B which can increase melee attack damage 200% will take up 2 blocks... The strongest specialty skill may take up as many as 3 blocks. All the specialties are transverse, that means you only can equip four 3-block specialty skills in total. What's more, the number of blocks is decided by character's level. Players only have 8 specialty blocks at the beginning but will gradually gain additional blocks as the characters level and eventually reach the full 4*4, 16-block specialty box.
